Our Lady of the Angels Monastery (1987-present). This religious community was designed and built in stages over a 30 year period for Cistercian nuns who live a life of physical labor and prayerful devotion in western Albemarle County. The multifaceted community complex of structures was planned to grow and mature, over time, and the recently completed the Sister’s Chapel is the crowning element in a three decade effort.
